Registration Procedures

Registration now open through Sunday, March 31st

The following summarizes the registration procedures to be used in determining participants for the 2019 Member-Guest Invitational to be held June 13 – 15, 2019:
  1. An open registration period will be held through March 31, 2019 during which golfing members interested in participating in the Member-Guest may submit an entry application.  Please note the following:
  • A. The order in which entries are received during the open registration period will have no bearing upon the determination of participants.
  • B. Entry applications must be signed and delivered to the Pro Shop in person, via email (, or mailed via U.S. Mail to the attention of Jimmy Bals; all entries must be received no later than 5:00 PM March 31, 2019.
  • C. Submission of an entry application obligates the applicant for the payment of the Member-Guest entry fee ($1,000) in the event the applicant is ultimately selected for  participation in the Member-Guest.  In the event an applicant cancels their registration, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GRANTED (even if a replacement team is ultimately substituted). THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS POLICY.  
  1. Upon closure of the open registration period, the number of registrations received will be compared to the number of Member-Guest spots (60).  To the extent the number of registrations received are less than or equal to the number of available spots, all applicants will be accepted for participation in the Member-Guest.  To the extent registrations received are greater than available spots, participants will be determined as follows:
  • A. The first 5 spots will consist of exemptions granted to the following individuals (subject to such individuals having submitted an entry application during the open registration period pursuant to item 1. above):
    1. Previous year Member-Guest Champion
    2. Previous year Club Champion (Championship Flight only)
    3. Current WCC Club President
    4. Member-Guest Chairman
    5. Exemption to be granted at the discretion of the WCC Board of Governors
NOTE:  In the event any of the above exemptions are not used by the individuals receiving such exemptions, spots associated with the exemptions will be auctioned during the Drawing Party (see d. below) prior to any names being drawn.  The minimum opening bid for such spots will be $1,250, with proceeds in excess of the registration fee ($1,000) being donated to the Evans Scholars Foundation in the name of the winning bidder.
  • B. Spots will be granted to those Members that were on the 2018 Member-Guest waiting list and did not gain entry to the 2018 Member-Guest.  Members that were on the 2018 waiting list and would like to participate in the 2019 Member-Guest must submit an application during the 2019 open registration period pursuant to item 1. above.  Automatic entry to the 2019 Member-Guest will not be granted if an application is not received by 5:00 PM on March 31, 2019 pursuant to the requirements of item 1. above.
  • C. The next 10 spots will be determined by a “Play-In” event to be held on Saturday April 13, 2019.  The Play-In event will be a handicapped event (80% of handicap), with 5 spots being awarded to the 5 best low-net scores of participants with a handicap index less than the median index of those participating in the Play-in event, while an additional 5 spots will be awarded to the 5 best low-net scores of participants with a handicap index greater than the median index of those participating in the Play-In event.  NOTE:  Participation in the Play-In event is not required.  Additionally, other WCC golfing members who did not submit a Member-Guest entry application may participate in the Play-In event, however will not be eligible to earn a spot in the Member-Guest.
  • D. Remaining spots will be awarded during a Drawing Reception to be held immediately following the Play-In event.  Names of all registrants who have not previously been awarded a spot in the Member-Guest via sections 2a. through 2c. above will be placed in a bowl, with names being drawn and announced until the remaining available spots have been awarded.  Upon filling all spots, names will continue to be drawn to determine the order of the waiting list.
  1. The Member-Guest entry fee will be billed in non-refundable installments of $500 on April 30, 2019 and $500 on May 31, 2019.
  1. Members on the waiting list for the 2019 Member-Guest at the time of the commencement of play will be granted automatic entry to the 2020 Member-Guest to the extent an entry application is submitted during the 2020 open registration period.
